Thanks for the recent Herdwick pictures. They are one of my favourite things about the lakes. Who would ever imagine that sheep with such sweet kind faces could produce such alarmingly scratchy fleece !!

Thank you so much for Saturday's pictures of Three Shires Inn and Slaters Bridge. I spent several happy holidays at the Three Shires, starting as a teenager, and always thought Slaters Bridge was the most beautiful and peaceful place in the world, and a secret place known only to my family! I was rather disappointed later to find it on paintings and to realise that others knew about it too... Having got used to the idea, I bought a couple of the paintings which hung in my home for many years, and it's still a favourite place to visit when I'm (rarely) in the area. Thanks as always for your dedication in sharing lovely pictures of a beautiful place! Regards, Stella

Wow!

The Britannia Inn is looking rather gorgeous, we haven't visited for a few years now so what a lovely surprise. The terrace garden, the dining room, the menu and the fresh, bright bedrooms, absolutely fantastic.
Having said that let me say this, back in the 60's and 70's it was our favorite place to go to after a long ramble with friends to enjoy a Lager and Lime, homemade Steak/Kidney Pie, lashing of chips
and a roaring fire. It doesn't really get much better than that.

We are still in lockdown and for another 2 weeks but we have plenty to keep us occupied at home and lots of nice walks before breakfast along Brighton Beach. (Mask On Distancing)
The weather is warming up a bit and we have buds appearing on the tree's, even the birds are preparing for spring. Hopefully happier days of real freedom for everyone in the near future.

The pictures today of the old swing gate and the falls at Stock Ghyll bring back memories of my days attending Kelsick Grammar School many years ago now. Thank you for all your daily pictures that bring back memories of my fell walking days.

Thanks for all the daily photos Tony - such a lift every morning, first thing. Thanks for the memories too - we had a lovely day at the Blacksheep Brewery at Masham on one of our drives round the UK. Lovely to see your little helper walking with you now and then, and learning to love the countryside - enjoy your Summery weather all the best - Gwen, south coast NSW

Hi Tony,
Once again we are in lockdown in Victoria Australia.
We are almost at the end of the Winter season but up to now we have still been able to enjoy our early morning exercise. One hour through Brighton Village and along the beach track close to our home
picking up a morning takeaway coffee on the way back to the warmth and comfort of our house.

It is so heartwarming to see the UK Summer weather in full bloom and it is an absolute joy to look at the Lakes, feel the grass beneath our feet and the wonderful views on the walk.

Regards
