Good evening Tony. It's about 8pm on Nov 3rd here in the US. I'm admiring the wonderfully restful photos of an unusually wet Lake District. I especially like the next to last one, with the colorful maple (what you call an acer). Your photos always put me in an introspective mood, but alas I must now turn on the TV and subject myself to election results. Depending on how things turn out, you may find me showing up at your doorstep in the next few weeks :) Oh, and are you getting a new pup? Don in Charlotte NC USA

Saying thank you just isn't adequate enough to let you know how much seeing all your photos means each morning. Some stunning, some quirky, some such a pleasure to see. and your comments, often making us all smile in these dreadful times. Thank you again Tony.

Thank you for sharing your photos. They bring back memories of happy holidays a long time ago.
I especially liked the shot of the gate today.
Best wishes to all.

HI Tony, Thank you for today's photos, and especially the first one of the road through Low and High Dale Park. It lifted my spirits to see that lonely, winding road and the trees and bracken changing colors. It made me instantly wish I was there to enjoy a leisurely walk and take it all in. We have had our first official snow and it's sticking, so winter is officially here for our part of the world. We had so many bears in our yard this summer we didn't take many walks here. Thank you for photos of your little granddaughter. How delightful for her to touch such deep moss! What a legacy you are leaving her...walks with her grandfather, teaching her to love the beauties of the Lake District, and to explore with her hands, and all captured on film for her to enjoy the memories over and over. I assume the squirrel on Saturday is a red squirrel although it looks very grey. It is very beautiful.

We live on a small farm in Southern Wisconsin. It is called Highfield House and was named after Highfield House on Hawkshead Hill. We stayed there many times when it was a B&B owned by Jim & Pauline Bennett. Thanks for the memory.
