When is saw your name and location i had to triple check your name and Qth.My uncle and myself are both John Shannon and hams. What are the odds.

Daily reader of the diary and love the concept of QRP and a wire. Inspired me to get into CW and QRP with simple antenna’s. Thank you for the site and the blog.

I enjoy readiing your diary everyday. I have been running QRP with my HW-9 and indoor long wire for 5 years now. It's lots of fun and sure beats watching TV!
I hope to be one of your streak contacts sometime. I keep listening, but no luck so far.

Learned CW back in the service, but it’s been decades since I’ve tapped out anything that wasn’t “SOS” for fun. Always thought there was something comforting about the rhythm of it.

Not sure what I’m supposed to write here—never been good at this kind of thing—but thanks for the site and for keeping the tradition going. Might dust off the old keyer if I can figure out where I put it.

Hello John,

I'm the first to sign your guest book for 2025! Just a thought to keep in mind for the New Year. Like everything else in this world, change happens. The same for Amateur Radio. Today, digital modes prevail. But we old CW ops need to remember there will always be CW on the bands as long as we are around. Remember the past fondly but do our best to keep CW alive today and tomorrow and the next day. Enjoy the time we have left with what we love to do. In that way, we honor the Silent Keys who came before us, and perhaps inspire younger ops to follow in our foot steps. These are.....the Good Old Days. Happy New Year.
