Sweet mother of fuck, Max. Thanks for updating! You started me Urbanexing, I don't like seeing a major source of inspiration seemingly disappearing off the face of the earth like that :D.

Your chute cave adventure would have been much better with these I think. Not that I want you to go back. I felt anxiety just reading about you going through the "hell crack". Incredible adventure. Thanks for sharing it.

You inspired my friend and I check out an abandoned house last weekend. Had to jog down a highway at 5 A.M., scratched my balls on barbed wire fence(twice), hid in a ditch to avoid cops and lost two pints thanks to brambles. Haven't had that much fun in years. Thanks Max.

Hey, nice update photo. You guys look great surrounded by all that asbestos. Speaking of which, I hope you, and all the would-be urban adventurers, understand all the dangers you expose yourselves too. Hope you know what to avoid... Not that I'm advising against urban exploring. I love the photos. Keep on trucking...

MAX!! Also glad you've not been jailed, burried underneath a pile of rubble, or floating face down in some nasty sewer pipe! Looking forward to an update, but for now I'll just go outside in this bright sunlight, have a smoke, and wonder why I drank so damn much last night....

I think max has lost interest in the cause, and, quite frankly, so have I. It's not that I don't want to go exploring anymore it's that school takes up all of my time and my old friends that I used to explore with are gone. Growing up is hard to dooooo.

I drive by the BTDZ going to work, there are no cables under the bridge at all, just cement. I believe in Zed! But why did the counter on the front page go from 200,000 some to 20,000 thousand? You lost a digit, maybe its in Zed with Agent Wop!

Hey Max - I sent the link of Dimension Zed to a friend of mine who is a transportation engineer and after checking it out he sent me this email:

"Hey Melissa, Your friends need to be evaluated…professionally, not because they’re adventurous…because I think they have a screw or maybe two screws loose. The low-down on the bridge…it is a bridge constructed to handle utilities (i.e. gas, electric, etc). I’m told these utilities are suspended beneath the structure. Thanks for the link."

Though you might enjoy reading that :-)

Great stuff guys. But it looks like the folks upstairs can't find enough reasons to raise tuition some more: I ran across this little bit in a trade rag today and thought of you.

"Utility cover sensor system aims to keep lid on intruders"
Cabling Product News
Packaged with September 2004 issue of Cabling Installation and Maintenance
www.cable-install.com

Fiber Instrument Sales (www.fiberinstrumentsales.com) has announced ... [an] optical-fiber security system to protect underground telecommunication networks ... Utility Cover Surveillance (UCS) System ... detection mechanism [is] called Cover Cop ... does not use electricity ... signals an alert whenever a manhole or other utility cover is opened ...

A customer asked if FIS could design a solution to protect the access points ... that led to the underground utility tunnels on their large college campus ...

... can monitor 500 or more utility covers in a single system over a distance of 30 or more kilometers ... use optical-fiber cable to daisy chain the covers together ... when someone opens any utility cover within the system the triggering device causes a measurable loss of light ... This triggers an alarm and causes a flashing icon to appear on the map ... central control unit ... begins at $10,000 ... sensing devices ... cost $149 apiece."

Hey, This website is pretty cool, It's a lot like another website I know that's updated just last week.

I found this one because you guys happen to have had the same name - Aventure Squad. those guys set up just this year, their not as hardcore as you, they don't really do shit to be cool, just funny.

I don't think they've ever broken any laws but they have a lot of funny shit on their site, their all just school kids in highschool over in Australia.

If you guys are interested in some new, funny pics and movies of another adventureous nature, you should check it out.
their still using free servers I think, pretty cheapo, but worth a look anyways;

Being Max's slightly older 1st cousin, I can assure everyone that Max is not any of the people shown in the pictures. Maybe I'll give him a call and ask him what's up with the Squad.

Anyone else see the article about the fucking douchebags that did all the vandalizing in the U of M steam tunnels? Apparently they got all types of cameras and shit in there now. The final frontier is rapidly shrinking due to other's negligence and poor behavior. If we'd have been there and bumped into them I'd have done some serious head bashing.

I stumbled across your website. Cool! I'm a former (15 years ago)
charter member of the UI tunneling team. We were a loosely organized
group that explored the steam tunnels and a few other areas -- not quite as hairy as you guys. We NEVER vandalized, stole, etc. In fact we did the opposite. We went down with tools and fixed stuff -- leaking valves, broken guards, that kind of thing.

Thanks for the great site. I enjoyed recollecting my tunneling days.
