how's clemmy? God be with you. You are in my prayers every night. ivey

Hi All,
Just read Bob the horse 11-3 posting and it was a hoot. I still say you need another horse out front to keep Doc in line. The wagon looks really great with the enclosed front and all. Can't hardly wait for you to get started on your 3rd trip. Just take it easy and enjoy.

Dear Bob,

Oh I could picture your adventure today with the new unicorn hitch, I giggled when I read B.O.B.'s account of the day's trip. My Dad had a team of Belgians and I can imagine the "rodeo" you had. Sometimes the "gentle giants" just don't do or go where you want them to.

Please take care and I am looking forward to reading about your new adventures on Trip #3, and your new book. Looks like you are feeling good and fully recovered from your accident and ready to go down the road. God be with you and keep you safe. The wagon sure looks good, hope it will keep you warm this winter.

Howdy Bob, I learned of your journey while searching for covered wagons/sheepcamp style R.V.s. Very sorry to hear of the wreck, but appears that the lord and savior had other ideas for you. Love what you are doing only thing better would be joining ya on the trail. I recently got a new team of mules that had been trained by a friend of mine. I cant wait to find or build a wagon suitable for the kind of travels that you have embarked upon. If you get to Southern Idaho in the summertime we have several wagon trains that take place and sure would enjoy haveing you hitch up and share some stories even if only for a day or two. Happy Trails and be safe out there.

Admire your lifestyle and mode of transportation. Also your fortitude for returning to the lifestyle after the accident. We are convinced that a lifestyle that is simpler, is better. My wife of 36 years, her mentally disabled sister, three rescue dogs, and I, "full time" in a modern Travel Trailer and are also moving around this great country. Thanks for sharing your "story" and your experiences. We will be keeping up with you through your website, and who knows, maybe someday our paths will cross. We will be the camper that passes you and then stops on the side of the road to meet you and the team.

Comments:

Hello Bob, My sister ( Becky McDermott) and my Dad ( Harry Smith) met you in Bridgeport, NY a long time ago, when you first started on your journey. My dad still talks about it, and the fun he could have had with you if he was just a few years younger.

My family traces your journey through the Web site, and I can't wait for your books to come out. For the first time in a long time, I know what to get my Dad for Christmas. Is is possible that you will sign any of the books for people?

Please let me know.

Bob! Great name, also my dad's name. First I wished you health and safety on then next trek of you trip. My friend sent me your link, and I will follow you on your trip, wishing I had the COURAGE to do the same. I long for the simple life also, and work each day at acquiring as much of it as I can. I live here in the Pacific Northwest on 3 acres with 2 horses, goats, geese, etc, a creek running through my property. I am a fortunate one, I know. I have riden the John Wayne Pioneer's and Wagon's trail 2 times in my life and now want to do the Chief Joseph ride. Yes I own an appaloosa. Hopefully you will get this way in your travels. You are more than welcome to come park you rig here, pasture the horses, (free feed and grain) for them of course, and for you. I would love to be able to sit by our fire in the evening, and listen to some of the tales of your trip. Honestly, our home is open to you, if you get this way. God be with you in your travels.

Bob I have been following your web pages since the vary first time you crossed over into Indiana. Not a horse person, just interested in how one can take on such an adventure! have thought several times I might make the effort to findyou 0on our Indiana roads as I am pretty near central in the norhtern 1/3 of the state, a town called Kokomo !! but times just have not panned out for me. We were mighty close whenyour were crossing from In into Mich. going N, we were on our way wiht our 5th wheel to the Bruce Pensula of Ontario to visit Canadian freinds. Again this winter we will be headed SOUTH but are not SnoBirds but rather "Winter Texans". So it is hard for me to understand why you would go west NOT South. rest assured I too do and will be looking in on your web site more than once a day lookin to see what is new with You.
If I read it normally is Military thrillers but have read some other adventurous things like a book about a father who set his 18 yr old daughter on a trip Sailing ALONE around the world writting and selling articals on sailing to pay her way. left NY harbor at age 18 arriving back to much fanfare at age 21. or abook by author Steven Koontz who did 2 cross country trips flying a 1940 Stearman Bi-wing So now I will be adding your experiances to that list of mine!
I mention your trek/web page to many. Here IN indiana I do know that my dad had experianced reins around his neck to some degree plowing and we are not Amish either. He lived from an experiance like that, steel wheeled tractors to micro waves, space shots and more So I hope I can see changes of that sort also. NOT BHO kind of "Change" !! can you imagine how an UN-American name like that can get in there OOPs !! sorry I best get off that !! ALL the luck you Need on this next "Trip" TO You !!

Good evening, Bob. So good to see Clementine peeking out of her blanky on this cool fall evening. Our little chihuahua, Amber, loves hers. And ours (which she also claims as hers). LOL. I told you the weather would start getting nippy about this time of the month. In fact, unless one unexpectedly crops up, there was no Indian Summer to give us a few warm days this year. Just Summer, Fall and Winter trying hard to squeeze in. As Clementine watches you, my little girl has decided to check up on me. She figures it is bed time and I am still pecking away on this annoying thing. Enjoy your remaining days in Indiana. I do hope you graze by us on your way south. If not, I will patiently wait. Someday we will make those connections. In the meantime, I will enjoy your travels in my warm, cozy home. God bless you all. Sue
