I better not get any junk mail...

Anyway, you've probably already gotten e-mails from my friend steeltoedbisonbob@hotmail.com. I am part of the 4-man group that went into the single helix and went further than you, coming up and 94 and Hamline. Just thought I'd thank you for this new hobby of mine, at least until I leave for collage. I'm sure to be underground a lot now. Cool. Thanks for not making it easy too. Oh, I have a question. Have you ever heard of an Underground Bordello that was uncovered by some workers? A guy at the Hardees we ate at after comeing up mentioned them. Can't find anything thought you might have an insight. Thanks!

You have done stuff that I always wanted to do. Exploring old ghost towns and mine sites in BC Canada is always fun when out camping (if you happen to come across them).

Vancouver has some tunnels under it if you happen to be in the area some time. Can't find much information on them but here are two URLs to say they are (or might be) here.

Love this place! Your Code of Conduct, and the care and safety precautions you take set you well apart from most of the urban exploration crowd (although you really do need a gas sniffer).
We explore here in Toronto, and follow a similar code to you, although we tend to do daylight explorations.
When we have a place to post our explorations, I'll email the link to you.

your website sure brought back some memories.

i am from minneapolis now living in boston. while there in MPLS, i explored some of the places you have listed. a friend of mine here in boston emailed me a link to your website.

my friends and i took a look under the pillsbury plant... (Chute Tunnel/Cave & Pillsbury Canal)... and followed that to others- (East Bank Tailrace Tunnels) some big control room, etc... mud, smells, animals, and history.

the st. paul caves- on the bluffs near the island... man - some scary stuff there - sandstone ceilings collapsing and all.

minneapolis has some great buildings, tunnels, and caves.
i'm gonna have to check out boston now!

cool stuff- keep it safe - like your 'code of conduct'.
they seem like good rules to follow.
one possible addition: <b&rt;don't do it to be COOL</b&rt;.

look forward to new stuff on your site.
ever think of writing a book?

I stumbled across your web page while killing time at work.
I must say, your account of the Ford Motor tunnels was truly enjoyable reading! Much like reading a good mystery..waiting to see what happens next and how you would elude detection/capture.

Although I don't have the nerve to attempt what you and your friends do, I admire your tenacity and resolve at overcoming the challenge.

My best to you and your friends.

Amanda

P.S. I do hope that Ben has recovered from his inujuries.

Hey- You guys win the Splendid Humans Award for this day. Your explanation of why you do this is perfect. Myself and a band of yahoos did the same in Moscow ID in the early 90's. We didn't have the access to tunnels, we went vertical. Watertowers, grain silos, anything 3 stories and up. Adrenalin is your friend. Carpe Noctum.

So cool. I have been interested in the undersides of things since I was a kid - the basements, the tunnels, the secret rooms. I've scoured the undersides of Minneapolis/St. Paul since the early '80s on my own. I've always been smart (wussy?) enough not to go into what appeared to be potential death traps though, even though they were incredibly attractive.

Thanks for telling your tales and showing the pictures. Keep it up. (I loved the Ford guest book entry - I'm glad you got to find out he really did fall asleep)

And just wanted to thank ya for bringing back old memories and expressing my admiration for all your adventures. Keep it up good luck dont get caught and keep on keeping on.

Anyway, nice to see others doing the same.

Does anyone know where there are other chapters (or at least other groups) like this? Being selfish, I of course mean ones in or near Houston (or San Antonio) that I could be a part of.

Hey fellows whats up your sites awewsome. I like the that is says the part about the Goonies and Indiana Jones. I am the same age and I loved those movies too. The place I like to explore is called the Byberry Mental Institution its in Philadelphia, PA. The place is huge there is a whole complex of buildings about 27 of them. The place has been abandonded since about 1980.It is scary as hell and part of the thrill is evading the ever present security guards. You can go to http://byberry.cjb.net to check it out

Now I don't know if I should have said that, about the basement of the old Fuji-ya. Maybe it was blabbin;. I don't know. Anyway, the so-called Mill Ruins Park has probably eradicated it, or worse, disneyfield it. Now the old crooked lumpy bridge there has bee modernised, widened, smoothed over. Oh well.

Code of conduct is a fine thing. Explored Nicollet tunnels in my LSD days, before "urban renewal" when Hennepin Ave had commercial buildings on the Island and the tunnels ran all the way to the downstream tip of the island. A good mission would be to find how to enter them now that the horrible freeway has obliterated so much of the Island.
I'll tip ya, if you didn't already find it- in the basement of the old Fuji-ya on the East Bank is the entrance to a fuckin' scary tunnel, goes all the way under the falls to the West Bank and ends at a dripping rusted locked gothic iron door, creepy to hear the river rushing overhead...
Every city needs an Action Squad, glad you guys exist.
How about towers next?
