Comments:

My great great grandfather, Michael Bougher for whom I am named, was a volunteer in the 153rd and was in Company F under Capt. Lucius Q. Stout. According to our family records, he was captured at Chancelorsville May 3, 1863 and was held at Libby Prison, Richmond, VA. I have been doing some research regarding the validity his capture because the records show a final muster on July 24, 1863 as a Corporal and that he was discharged at Camp Curtin, PA. After the war he went on to be a Waterman and a Sea Captain.
