As time goes by, I realize how different the life we imagine is from the life we have. It is not better or worse.
I think a part of me still wants that life we've imagined. Most of me doesn't!

It's funny how some feelings just won't change. I think sadness must be the one that refuses to alter the most. Sadness and sorrow must be made of black coal, they seem to char everything touch by a stain of darkness. As days go we seem to recollect and try bury this dark spot deep in our hearts and souls. Then life piles on more events and actions, some happy and some sad, we think we forgot, relief! But the sorrow is still there, maybe it becomes less of a lump, more of a stone and we realise that it is no longer something we feel but part of the way we feel,a diamond that is so encrusted in us that we could no longer live or even love without, immovable. How far those young days are now! I timidly remember our outrageous hopes, I wish I still had them now. I am surprised with Khaled's timeline: 12 years he says! But why would I still remember the outrageous hopes? 100 messages he says. I believe him, I swear I know every single word in them. Those days do seem far now, as far as the distance we all set between those young men and their hopes. I remember the hopes but I can only retain the wishes.

for the past 12 years i typed 100s of comments then deleted them before clicking "sign the Book" i don't know what to write due to the following reasons:
1. the bastard Bader and his perfect comments :-) Bader .... set the standards a bit low so our comments won't get lost
2. the bastard Ali Harfoush ... 2 academic years with no english language :-)
3. 4 years of depending on Ammar to pass my exams :-)

Comment: for the first time I have just visited the new parts of the site, not because of any curiosity but to understand the message of khaledfeeling sorry for this change. I understand him, beeing there when they were both heads over heels all the way through the creation of this very site, it was really a pure moment of joy -the way we all like to remember Ammar- and the new tone of morosity just hurts us all, but I guess that this is the way that uncle Najeeb feels and we cannot do anything about it
