I stayed for a week with Sierra MTB. The company is based near the beach, and all the Fuengirola facilities and sights are within walking distance. Accommodation/house is more than equipped with everything you need, and the owner Alan, as well as Mary and guides, James and Simon are very friendly, nice and helpful. As for riding, the landscape and trails are just amazing. Guides will soon estimate how good you are and take you to a suitable trail. And they have a wide range of tracks to choose from. You name it, they have it. There is something for everyone, from beginners to hard core downhill professionals. During my stay I wanted to do some long climbs, so I did it with James, who is in pretty good shape and able to ride with you as much as you want. I also did few downhill and xc trails in the area, and on my last day I just went for a road ride along the coast to Malaga and back.
In overall I felt really good with Sierra MTB and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes nature, sun, adrenaline, good service, friendly people...

Well got back yesterday and only had a few hours to reflex on our short break with sierra Mtb. Firstly what a great place to ride and what a fantastic set up. Between the guides Simon and Alexi they were able to give you the exact type of ride you like and even with multiple punctures and falls they still achieved this..... thanks Alan and Mary for the food and never ending beer........ And a special thanks to Simon for putting me off pina colada for life

Just come back from a week riding in sunny Spain with Sierra cycling.
Bloody Brilliant!

Great riding , excellent guides and fabulous trails.
Think of Bedgebury , but with bigger steeper climbs , longer , steeper descents , loads of rocks and NO mud.
The guides (Simon and James) know the trails and are always helping with technique tips and coaching.

On a typical day, the van takes you up around 700m , then it is pedal and or push, to gain a bit more height.
Then it is trails and fire roads down to a well earned lunch.
After lunch, it is more trails all the way back down to sea level and the house.
Don't get me wrong, there are some 'cheeky climbs' and 'small ups' and 'interesting bumps' along the way , but it is mostly down.
Depending on the group you can easily do 20-25 miles a day.

They are based in Fuengirola , about 20 minutes from Malaga airport. (they pick up & drop off)
At the moment they have 2013/14 Giant Trance hire bikes, but they are renewing the whole fleet soon.

Google Mijas epic descent or Malaga downhill SRAM test track for a taste of what it's like.
For the braver/younger among you they can tailor the weeks to suit , with more Downhill routes.

10/10 Thanks again Alan & Mary plus guides for a great week off in Spain. This was my third visit,a nd won´t be the last. The trails great, guiding excellent and Mary´s breakfasts are just what every true sportsman should ingest before hitting the climbs ( Do like the option for uplift´s, as and when needed. )
I would strongly recommend Sierra to anyone wanting a weeks MTB trip on varied trails (can satisfy many skill levels) The hospitality is great, service likewise, and the sun shone 5 days out of 6 in November. What more can you ask?

Excellent experience, great location, friendly business, all the essentials are there, thoroughly recommended!

I hired one of the Giant Trance X2s and I really really wanted to take it home with me, great bike suited perfectly to the mixture of terrain and quite flattering to ride too oh and it's fun to play on too, my hops, jumps, manuals and wheelies all improved a lot.

The location on the beach means that you can always ride right back to the house, but you have a good choice of where to either get dropped off or ride up to the top from.

More than one guide also meant that no one was forced out of their comfort zone and even with only four other riders out at the same time as me the groups were still able to be split by ability / bravado

Thanks to Alan and Mary for looking after us at the house. Breakfast was spot on and we had everything we needed. The house was quiet at night so you could get kip and well placed for the town and beach.
we were there for the riding and the trails did not disappoint. well organised rides and fantastic coach. We rode with Simon most of the time and he is first class all round. He brought my riding on to a new level and got me round and home in one piece bar a few scrapes. ( Ps The wife will let me return) The trails are fantastic and were above my level at the start of the week but not by the end thanks to the coaching that was given.
Once again thanks for the holiday and anyone reading this should go. I cannot recommend it enough.

Thanks for another cracking week. 6 days of marvelous cycling, pitched just right for those of us of mature years (or four and a half if you want to be picky and count a day trip to Malaga and sloping off on the beers on the last day!)

Excellent guiding by the "magician" Nathan and Jamie looks like a future star if he can stop falling off in front of guests!!

Top notch breakfasts and endless beer supply probably accounts for how we managed to put weight on during a cycling holiday but world cup football and bar food had their part to play,

Dont change a thing and looking to get back there next year for more "fun in the sun"
