Hello there
Thank you so much for this site.
Patsy spotted a Harriet Daunt in the 1834 census, living with a family by the name of 'Ackworth'. If she is the one I'm interested in, her maiden name was Danckert. It seems that the quality of the writing is not perfect, and I wondered if you had seen it or can see it and whether you think this might actually read Danckert?
I wonder if there is any more information on this household of any sort...
I hope it's ok to ask you - Patsy suggested it would be ok
thanks
Caroline
PS I hope i've filled it all in ok

I am looking for references for a great grandmother and great grandfather. Grandmother's name was Margaret Dunlop (nee Phipps) believed to be from Bandon, born 1853. Married John Dawson Dunlop, born 1853 (location of birth not known). Date of marriage also not known.
Any direction you can give me will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you.

With regard to research about the Shannon family, I suggest that you contact the Shannon families still living in Bandon. Best regards, Patsy and Catherine

Hi

Thank you for the site. My grandfather Jeremiah Coughlan was born in Bandon about, I thought, 1889 (although the Admiralty records on your site show a Jeremiah Coughlan from Bandon born 1885). He emigrated to Australia sometime in the early 20th century, and married Margaret Mary Collins in Warwick, Queensland. They had four daughters (Eileen, Maureen, Margaret and Hanorah Noela (my mother, born 1921). I know there are still Coughlans in Bandon, and hope to visit Ireland next year (2011) and catch up with some of them.
