I have spoken to Dax Jenkins about our idea and he suggested contacting members this way.
I am the Activities Co-ordinator for New Inn Nursing Home and we will be celebrating National Care Homes Day on Friday 21st of June by doing a sponsored exercise bike ride hoping to achieve 80 miles!
I was wondering if any of you members would like to come along and join in and also if anyone had an exercise bike or 2 we could borrow.
We want to include the local school and councillor and also the press. Obviously we would make sure you get the publicity you deserve.
We will collect sponsor money as this will go into the residents fund which enables us to provide entertainment and activities for residents.

Is anyone in the club interested in grant funding? Thanks to sponsoring a former colleague on the Moonwalk last weekend I received this reply:
"Should your road cycling club need any funding, it may be well worthwhile taking a look at the Community Chest funding available (lottery money). Each Council in Wales has a pot of funding in partnership with Sport Wales - to get more people more active. It's not as well known about as it should be.

I chair the XXXX panel and we've supported the XXXX Cycle Club and others, so whilst I couldn’t guarantee success, it would be worth a punt - up to £1,500 funding available.

This is a good starting place - on the RHS it lists all the local auth contacts with details of the next meeting deadline.

PS Cycling could in theory qualify for a second tranche of funding in the year (a second £1,500) as Sport Wales are looking to support activities generated by the legacy of the Olympics and Paralympics.
