Hi

I am doing research on my Fordham line of the family, and have found on the 1911 Census an entry for a William Knight Fordham, who is listed as a "Sharing Smith Corporal 4th Dragoon Guards" He was aged 32 and married at the time of the census. Are you able to give me any more information on him, or am I able to obtain a copy of his service record. If you are not able to help me, would you be able to point in the right direction of some group that may be able

thanks
Barb Dawe

Hi, I am writing about my late father in law, Trooper 404490 Joseph Clayton, who met my late mother in law when he was stationed at Redford Barracks, Edinburgh. My recently deceased husband was their only child. I have now inherited some items which may be of interest to a regimental museum. A photo album of the whole company at Redford, early-mid 30s?, photos of various soldiers in Germany and at home, with US soldiers and a variety of horses and tanks. Also certificates from the Army cookery school, education certificates, cards from the 4/7 benevolent fund, applications for pension etc (he was invalided out)
But I have no idea where to send them or if indeed anybody would want them. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
Thanks Irene Clayton

Good Evening
I am doing Genealogy and am interested in finding out about my Grandfather who served in the Royal Dragoon Guards during WW1. As luck would have it his name is "Smith" and may have come from East Sussex (present day Eastbourne) and he married a women who's maiden name was "Fairbrass" and that's about all we have.
It's not a lot but waht can you do.
Thanks in advance...
John

Just happened on this site and took a look at your newsletter page. I notice the death notice on a Sid Ellis, Would this be the same gent who was a Sgt/Maj during the regiments stay in Aden. I not sure but I seem to remember a quite short jovial man and a all round nice bloke?
