Lived in elliot lake from 1980-1990 I worked in quirke 2 as an electrician ,was very shocked when I read about the mall collapse and my condolences go out to all you lovley people who live in elliot lake.I am looking for any of my friends who worked at the mine who are still living in elliot lake particularly Frank Canfield who I lost touch with as I lost his address.

Last week some people committed a crime when they took down an advertising Billboard sign along the 108 corridor. The sign was for "Elliot's Not Here". The owners were here in Elliot Lake to write out the "Algo Mall" words. The Metal Board was for another person who wanted to use the sign for their advertising. Some on was not thinking clearly. This has been reported to the police.

I was on this site a while back and I came across a post of a young lady, who seem to be looking for a young man she had not seen since the summer after grade 8 at West Hill. She said his name was Doug Harrison and I think it was either between 88 -91. She seemed very eager to reconnect with him and it sounded very important that she did.

I have looked through the posts, but I am an able to find it to give her the information. I hope only that she may read this post or if anyone knows who she was and can direct this to her attention, that would be great. I now live in Sault Ste. Marie and was on Face Book and came across in my feed of people you may know, a Douglas Harrison. I was born in Elliot Lake on the 25th of March 1968 and adopted by a french familly from Sault-Ste-Marie a few weeks after. In my late teens, I exchanged correspondance with my biological mother and decided it was best for both of us and our families not to pursue further our contact. I believe that she was 17 at the time of my birth and that she had an other son one year later, given to adoption services as well.

I guess that what brings me here 20+ years later is curiosity. From our correspondance, I know that she already had heart problems, so I wonder if she is alive; and if so, does she still live in Elliot Lake? Is she happy, etc. Also, I have no idea of my fathers identity. So I guess any information would be welcomed and appease my curiosity.

To avoid any confusion, shall you decide to email me some info, I know here name; I prefer not posting it on this public guest book to respect her privacy.

And for thoses who would be curious of what happened with me, my adoptive parents divorced when I was 5 and me and my 2 sisters moved in Quebec. I have teached french as a first language in highschools for 15 years. I also am the father of 2 wonderfull daughters of the age of 14 and 16.
