In Jan. purchase an Akita and it the best thing i've done in life beside having my children. She is my best friend and what she has done for me is priceless. I will take care of her for the rest of my life. The unconditional love is amazing.

I gave a 3 yr old Akita a forever home 5 years ago, after I lost my 16 yr old Chow. (from a local rescue org) Koji is a wonderful friend, very happy and ready to join in whatever I am doing. His 'kita kisses' always brighten my day! Many thanks to MARS for helping other Keeters!

I have a lab\akita that I rescued when he was 9 months old. He had heart worm and needed the heartworm treatment. He is now 12 years old and the BEST FRIEND I HAVE EVER HAD!!! He weighs in at 126 and is total muscle. He is the most beautiful being. I love the Akita breed

To all considering adopting: If your not willing to adopt an adult dog don't adopt a puppy, eventually you'll end up with an adult dog. How will it feel when you grow old and you no longer can be apart of the family and you get tossed into a shelter because no one loves you because your old and it shows, you got bigger, slower, sitting in your little room just waiting for a visitor. Your gunna pray to be rescued too.
I pray for all dogs and if I could i would adopt all of them young and old, sick or not. It's family, you love your family you don't throw them away because there old, you lye around thinking about the good old days and all the memories you have together. Memories are made whether your young or old, make a memory that matters, save an old dogs life.
I think this shelter is doing an amazing job, and I hope one day to adopt an old loving akita that really needs my help.
